Renowned Wildlife Artist and Animal Conservationist David Shepherd CBE, FRSA to attend the Sandringham Craft, Food and Gift Fair on Saturday
David studied art under professional artist Robin Goodwin, with early commissions for the RAF taking him to Arden in 1960, and then on to Kenya. This trip changed his life and he became a conservationist overnight when he witnessed 255 zebra dead around a waterhole poisoned by poachers.
In 1984 David established the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation to channel his own conservation efforts to fund vital enforcement and community projects that continue to make real difference to wildlife survival. As well as his wildlife and landscape paintings David is perhaps lesser Known for his portraits which include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother.
From fantastic food, unique art and crafts to superb sculptures , Living Heritage cherry pick the best of Britain's art & design people to bring them to you. Whether you live in Portsmouth or Preston, there's a show near you, which means a wonderful family day out is never far away. So what can you expect? Well lots.
The widest selection of hand crafted art, scultures and clever potters. Glass blowers, basket makers, traditional crafts - blacksmiths, bee keepers and specialist woodsmen. Fine jewellery, spectacular chainsaw art carvers and plenty of contemporary lifestyle craft products too.
The food halls are legendry at the shows. Locally produced delights with regional & international fine foods to eat and enjoy or buy to take home.Always hugely popular with visitors.
We like our visitors to get involved as well. Talented artists, potters & carvers take time out to talk about their art and do step by step guides, a wonderful experience whether you're five or fifty-five. Children love to throw a pot or make a face to keep. They like the puppets and marionettes too.
So come along, watch the Ferret racing, try some cheese or just relax with a picnic. You won't regret it.
Goblins was started 19 years ago by David and Francesca. They started from humble beginnings where the Goblins were made on the kitchen table and transported to craft shows strapped down to a black mini roof rack. They are now well established and work from a studio in the Hampshire downs.
