| Debbie Davenport Falconry - Falconry |
Well known and respected in the field as a professional falconer Debbie Davenport has over seventeen years experience in training and demonstrating birds of prey for display and educational purposes. More importantly she has valuable experience in presenting the birds to a wide variety of audiences. This includes demonstrations and educational sessions for people with special needs and learning disabilities.
Shows, corporate entertainment days, educational workshops and evening talks are just a few of the events that the team attend throughout the show season.
An entertaining and informative commentary accompanies the displays along with impressive free flying demonstrations of captive bred falcons, hawks and owls.
For schools, the educational bird of prey workshops are a fascinating and interactive way for students to learn about birds of prey and environmental issues.
Rehabilitation of wild, injured birds of prey has also been another aspect of Debbie’s work. She has cared for many owls, hawks and falcons, nursing them back to health and subsequently releasing them back into the wild.
Her skills and knowledge are used to assist with ongoing conservation work wherever possible for example lectures on raptor handling to those involved in countryside management.
